Lipid Panel, Non-Fasting, Serum (LPNF1)

The Mayo Clinic Lipid Panel, Non-Fasting, Serum (LPNF1) is a blood test used to evaluate a person's cholesterol levels. Unlike the fasting lipid panel, this test can be done at any time of the day and does not require fasting beforehand. The test measures total cholesterol, HDL (good) cholesterol, LDL (bad) cholesterol, and triglycerides. Elevated levels of LDL cholesterol and triglycerides are associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, while higher levels of HDL cholesterol may provide some protection against heart disease. This test is commonly used as a routine screening tool to assess an individual's risk of heart disease.
